Strength, healthy ageing, physique development and performance

Experience with purpose

Nikolai has spent more than 25 years in the fitness industry, combining formal qualifications with experience earned through elite sport, martial arts, professional competition and thousands of hours coaching people at very different starting points.

He was selected as a reserve athlete for Australia’s Olympic judo team for Beijing – prepared to step into competition if a primary athlete became unavailable through illness, injury or another circumstance. His broader martial arts background includes a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, a first-degree black belt in Judo, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and 10 years of kickboxing. He also built undefeated records of 1-0 as a professional MMA fighter and 4-0 as an amateur.

Bodybuilding and physique

Nikolai earned his ANB Pro card in 2018 after years of successful natural bodybuilding and classic physique competition. His record includes six INBA and eight ICN Men’s Bodybuilding first places, four INBA and four ICN Men’s Bodybuilding second places, and a PNBA Men’s Bodybuilding second place.

In Classic Physique he achieved three ANB first places, one ANB second place and the 2015 ANB Men’s Overall Classic Physique Championship. He was also second in Men’s Physique Pro Asia/Pacific in 2015 and the 2014 ANB Men’s Bodybuilding Posing Champion.

From performance to practical coaching

Nikolai later brought that athletic breadth to Australian Ninja Warrior. At Xtreme Athlete, however, elite credentials are not treated as an end in themselves. They inform a practical system for everyday weight loss, stronger ageing, physique development, martial arts and demanding performance goals.

His current focus is helping men preserve strength, muscle, movement and confidence as they age, while continuing to support clients whose goals require a more performance-led approach. The standard remains the same: purposeful training, honest nutrition and a plan that can be sustained beyond a short challenge.
